Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers and New York Upper Crust tween drama "Gossip Girl" on the CW Network were among the big winners at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards. The show was taped at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Hollywood and aired Monday night (Aug 4) on Fox.
Cyrus, 15, was the queen of the prom and all-around, be-everywhere, do-everything host. She not only performed her hit single "7 Things," but also danced with her M&M Cru, with BFF Mandy Jiroux. They dance off against Adam Sevani and Jon Chu's dance troupe ACDC. Black Eyed Peas diva Fergie, decided Cyrus' crew was the clear winner with some urging from the audience.
The night wouldn’t have been complete without Cyrus picking up three surfboard trophies. She won for Choice TV Show, Comedy; Choice TV Actress, Comedy and Choice Music Female Artist.
The Jonas Brothers were also big winners with six surfboards, for Choice Music, Single; Breakout Group; Music Love Song; Summer Song; Male Hottie and Red Carpet Fashion Icon, Male.
The CW soap "Gossip Girl" and its cast members won six awards. The show won Choice TV Show, Drama and TV Breakout Show. Blake Lively was named Choice TV Actress, Drama and TV Breakout Star Female. Among the guys, Chace Crawford won TV Breakout Star, Male and Ed Westwick, who plays antihero Chuck Bass, was voted Choice TV, Villain.
"American Idol" won the award for Choice TV, Reality Music Competition, while this season's winner and runner-up, David Cook and David Archuleta, also won surfboards: Cook, for Choice TV Male Reality/ Variety Star and Archuleta for Most Fanatic Fans.
MTV's "The Hills" was the winner of the Choice TV Celebrity Reality honor, while Lauren Conrad claimed the Choice TV, Female Reality/ Variety Star prize. Among the oldsters, Adam Sandler won an award for comedy and Steve Carrell won for his role in the movie “Get Smart.”
Chris Brown won big, taking the awards for Choice, Hook-Up for his duet with Jordin Sparks on "No Air,” Music Male Artist, Music R&B Artist and Music R&B Track.
